At TRXBE, we think social media is tearing at the fabric of civil society. We think this is a problem worth solving. We believe that today's dominant social media brands are largely responsible for the increase in social discord in countries throughout the world. Issues related to aggressive advertising, privacy rights, abusive algorithms, fake news, the proliferation of conspiracy theories, interference in U.S. elections, and hate speech have become more profound because confronting these issues is in direct conflict with the industry's advertising based business model. With this business model social media companies are incentivized to promote low quality content because this content increases engagement and maximizes revenue. The negative ramifications for our society can not be overstated. We need and deserve less toxic alternatives. TRXBE was conceived to remediate the things we do not like about other social apps. Everything we do to build the TRXBE app is viewed thru this lens.
